Your beach holiday with action in Tyrol
Water is a must on a summer holiday and there is plenty of it in the Ötztal. You can enjoy time in the water here not only during quiet and pleasurable moments by the lake, but there are great spots for your adrenaline kick.
In Area 47 or on the via ferrata of the Stuibenfall you can set yourself a challenge and experience the moments of success close to the water. And relaxing fans will get their money’s worth in our theme or the two bathing lakes. Well then – let’s go for the cold plunge into the water.
This is your home with the Falkner Gigons.
A whirling and rolling, swirling and pushing, an irrepressible force pounding the rocks. .
The steel construction with its 720 steps and the 80-metre-long suspension bridge create an exciting contrast to the unspoilt landscape and the natural force of the water.

Lake Piburg, surrounded by forests, reflects the surrounding mountains. Due to its scenic location, it was declared a natural monument as early as 1929 and is one of the oldest nature reserves in Tyrol. The jewel was created by a huge landslide that blocked the depression at the south-eastern end. Due to the crystal rock, the mountain lake has very soft water. With an area of 14 hectares and a maximum depth of 25 m, it is one of the largest mountain bathing lakes in Tyrol. Despite 915 metres in altitude, it is also one of the warmest (up to 24°) and undoubtedly one of the most beautiful.
For generations, swimmers and hikers have made a pilgrimage to Lake Piburg and enjoyed the idyll. At the south end, a bathing complex with a lake restaurant and terrace offers otherwise rare sunbathing areas and has a raft facility with boat hire. Gliding over the mostly glassy waters – as it were in the middle of a mountain painting – is not to be missed.
Recreation and bathing fun for the whole family
Fed by pure spring water, the Umhausen natural bathing lake combines an ecological character, such as demarcated zones with water plants, with the amenities of a leisure facility. The parent-child area with playground is particularly family-friendly. A play platform in the water with slide and diving tower as well as beach volleyball, tennis and table tennis offer sporting activities and fun for young and old. Extensive sunbathing areas provide relaxation and a pleasant atmosphere.
Not far away – at the starting point of the “Waalweg” in the direction of Stuibenfall – there is also a free Kneipp facility, with foot and arm pools, a drinking fountain and a herbal snail. The natural bathing lake in Umhausen will revive your spirits.
This is what alpine spa enjoyment feels like
Winter and summer – a thermal dream with a view of the peaks: In the middle of the Ötztal Alps, an exciting water world delights its guests. The Aqua Dome – Tirol Therme Längenfeld offers a unique combination of bathing fun, sport, spa and health on almost 50,000 square metres.
The experience of the unexperienced: the futuristic architecture of the Aqua Dome alone stages the theme of water in a completely new form. Three circular bowl pools seem to float in front of the glass crystal of the Ursprung thermal dome – surrounded by two river courses in the open-air Talfrische area.
Children will find an enclosed bathing area in the Alpen Arche Noah with a giant slide, play area, climbing wall and children’s restaurant.
